I have worked in corporate communications since the mid-90's. Before going freelance in 2014, I was Deputy Head of Corporate Communications at KPMG based in London. I worked at KPMG for over ten years, regularly advising senior leadership on media and communications strategy, generating media coverage through proactive campaigns, managing reputational issues, building relationships with a wide range of journalists, and helping manage the communications team and retained agencies.
I supported senior KPMG global leadership at the World Economic Forum in Davos for two years running. I also project-managed the production of the UK annual report in 2006. For several years, I looked after media relations for KPMG's then legal arm KLegal.
Prior to KPMG, I worked in the press offices at both Nationwide Building Society and Axa Sun Life, giving me an excellent understanding of issues in the financial services sector.
I started my communications career at Parcelforce based in Bristol, drafting internal communications including the staff newsletter and dealing with regional media enquiries.
Since going freelance in 2014, I have been supporting a number of clients in different ways.
ProServ PR - I work for specialist PR agency ProServ PR, interviewing clients including Nash Squared, Harvey Nash and NashTech, and writing copy for publication in the press and on other channels.
An example of my work can be found here.
Aldermore Bank - I write a range of pieces for Aldermore, mainly around business financing such as invoice finance and commercial mortgages. An example of my work can be found here.
Institute of Customer Service - I work on a range of blogs and articles for The Institute. An example can be found here.
I work for various other clients - mainly in the professional services sector - on an adhoc basis.
